# Compute (Map Engine)

Ellipsis Map Engine provides a compute interface for executing spatial operations directly on Ellipsis Drive layers.

It enables server side processing of raster and vector data without moving data outside the system.

#### Availability

These API endpoints are available only in the Information Factory instance of Ellipsis Drive.

They are not available in the SaaS Model.

For compute capabilities in the SaaS Model, use the [compute sub module](https://ellipsis-package.readthedocs.io/en/latest/compute/index.html) in the Python package.
