4. Organize data across layers

There are a few rules and best practices to keep in mind when uploading your spatial data to the layers.
The diagram below helps you decide how to best organize your data across different layers in your drive.
NOTE: Access to your data is set at layer level. As such, you can cluster content into the same layer when the same access policy applies to all datasets that are included.
Do keep in mind that datasets in the same layer need to be of the same type.
For RASTER data, they should have the same resolution and the same number of bands.
For VECTOR data, the vector files must be of the same type/same properties.
If you require vector data and raster data (or raster data of different types) to be displayed at the same time, you need to create a new layer for each data type. Once these layers are created, you can import them for simultaneous view in two clicks. To learn more about this, click here.
