# Use Ellipsis Drive to ingest client data

If you want to give your clients/users the possibility to bring their own datasets onto your platfrom for visualisation, data fusion, analytics etc., you can support this by [connecting Ellipsis Drive](https://docs.ellipsis-drive.com/developers/integration-options/connect-ellipsis-drive-to-your-platform) to your app OR by fully white labelling Ellipsis Drive with your own UI/UX and hosting client/user data on your Ellipsis Drive account.

To host client/user data on your own account the steps to do this are as follows:

Step 1: [create an Ellipsis Drive folder](https://docs.ellipsis-drive.com/developers/api-v3/path-folder) for each of your clients. Store the id of these folders on your backend so that you know which user has access to which folder(s).

Step 2: Whenever a user logs in to your app, [create an access token](https://docs.ellipsis-drive.com/developers/api-v3/account/access-tokens) for the folder in question. Make sure to pick an appropriate access level. Learn more about access levels [here](https://docs.ellipsis-drive.com/getting-started/quick-start/5.-data-sharing-and-user-access).

Step 3: Sent the token to your app and use the [Ellipsis Drive API](https://docs.ellipsis-drive.com/developers/api-v3) to perform relevant tasks. Relevant tasks often include [displaying layers](https://docs.ellipsis-drive.com/developers/integration-options/display-ellipsis-drive-layers-in-your-app), [listing folders](https://docs.ellipsis-drive.com/developers/api-v3/path-folder/list-folder) and performing [uploads](https://docs.ellipsis-drive.com/developers/api-v3/path-raster/timestamps/upload-raster).

Instead of integrating Ellipsis Drive with your backend, you can also choose to connect Ellipsis Drive to your app. More information on that can be found [here](https://docs.ellipsis-drive.com/developers/integration-options/connect-ellipsis-drive-to-your-platform). The advantage of connecting is that you can reuse more of the already established Ellipsis Drive UI.
